Some Spring Butterflies

I haven't had much time to get out and seek out the spring butterflies this year but here are some I saw in the county.

Ocean City Welcome Center Rookery

I have heard about the rookery along the new Ocean City bridge but have never been there so decided since it's nesting time I'd take a field trip.  I found good numbers of both Black-crowned and Yellow-crowned Night Herons and in their breeding colors.

Yard butterflies

Back in March on the 30th we logged into the first 2 butterflies of the year ~ Cabbage White's & American Ladies.  The Ladies have been very flighty and do not sit for photographs.  Today, I also saw 2 Eastern Black Swallowtails and a Tiger Swallowtail.
