Cape May Point State Park

A wonderful warm and sunny Thanksgiving day meant there were lots of people out walking the trails at the state park.  I was one of them.  There weren't as many birds as I would have liked but enough to grab some pictures.

Beth's Day ~ Butterflies & the Moon

Settlement is 11 days so between walks around the garden, I have been packing.  The gardens are still going as we haven't had any frosts yet.  It seems like each year the frost comes later and later so butterflies are here longer.  Later, this afternoon, I went over to CM Point to drop off a load of my things where I'll be staying for the next 6 months unless I find new house sooner.

Beth's Patch ~ Bird & Butterflies

Today's butterfly species totaled 7 flying with 3 types of caterpillars and one chrysalis which gave me 8 butterfly species in total. And a Hermit Thrush who was probably here to stock up on the caterpillars.

Beth Patch ~ Gardens

When this time of year arrives, I am always sad as soon the gardens will be gone for another year.  For me this year, it's particularly sad, as I am moving away from my house of 37 years and leaving my gardens.  They have helped me to grow with nature and stretch myself, learning about the plants and flowers but also learning about butterflies, moths and other creatures of nature.  Here are some pictures taken in the backyard and one of the side garden by the back steps.
