Honeycroft Village ~ Wild Indigo Duskywing

 My backyard - Wild Indigo Duskywing Caterpillar 11 days after first seeing it. This one is about 1/2" long and maybe 1/8" or slightly wider. There are 5 caterpillars in nests on Baptista. Hoping to see at least one chrysalis.

Lancaster County Travels

 Random pictures from my travels today. I had to return 2 different days to get my PA license since the US passport servers were down. Took the scenic road back home stopping at Groff's for just a few more flowers including 2 Caryopteris Longwood which Les says are gorgeous and a great butterfly & hummingbird attractor.

Honeycroft Village ~ Yard Butterfly 8 ~ Wild Indigo Duskywing

I worked outside yesterday planting flowers in my front garden. Then, I went out to rearrange the flowers/pots on the back deck. On the Baptista I found nests and caterpillars that I think are probably Wild Indigo Skippers. Baptista is the host plant for the following Butterflies: Orange Sulphur, Clouded Sulphur, Frosted Elfin, Eastern Tailed-Blue, Hoary Edge, and Wild Indigo Duskywing. And, I also have Black Swallowtail caterpillars on my parsley. Pictures above taken 7/11: below 7/12.
