Just after a late lunch today, there were 3 Ruby-throated hummingbirds on the feeders - one male was feeding when a second stopped by to chase him off the feeder. The third hummer, I believe to be a female had no coloring on the throat that I saw. I have been seeing a male every day for the past week.

Beth's Patch ~ Life Begins Anew Garage Overwintered Plants
Every year I pull lantana into my garage to stay out of the elements. I usually don't water it at all or perhaps just once between late November until late April. Then I water it well, pull it outside and let nature take it's course. This year in March I decided that I would bring in 2 of the 6 plants that I had pulled into the garage late last Fall. I brought in Dallas Red Lantana and also a Rocking Deep Purple Salvia
Dallas Red Lantana on 3/19 - watered 3/10 |
Rocking Deep Purple Salvia on 3/19 - watered on 3/12 |
Dallas Red Lantana 4/10. Ready for cuttings to bush it fuller. |
4/10 - Rocking Deep Purple Salvia ready for a haircut to make it bushier. |
