My Yard ~ Flowers in the garden

I love how the long summer days and the heat are causing the flowers to grow.  The Mexican Sunflowers were volunteer plants coming from seed from past seasons.  It has grown tall up to the Thai Sunrise canna's about which we get so many compliments.  The Lantana looks great and pulls in butterflies all of the time.  The Rudbeckia does pull in as many butterflies but it does look good.

CA ~ Palm Desert ~ Day 1 con't

The grounds at Club Intrawest are gorgeous. They do an super job on their landscaping and it is well maintained.   There are flowering plants everywhere which includes many different species of Lantana which is a favorite of mine and by the looks of it also a favorite of the hummingbirds.  Greeting us this afternoon was a Greater Roadrunner which is a cool looking bird.

Gardens at Hereford Lighthouse, North Wildwood

The gardens at Hereford Lighthouse are always so nice each year.  The flowers are chosen well with some natives, some non-natives but all that are beneficial for the butterflies, Bugs and birds.  It's always worth the trip to visit. Flowers below top to bottom are Snap Dragons, Pentas, Shasta Daisy, Summer Sun Rudbecki and Lantana.
