Donation Quilts ~ Quilts of Valor

I started working on a donation quilt for Quilts of Valor for my local quilting guild, Calico Cutters. they supplied the kit, I am to make the top and then return it so borders and the quilting can be done on it.

Then, after I got finished with this top, which took a few days, I decided to cut out another top and make it for them also. on this one I'll put the borders on and then take it back to be quilted as I believe it's a little large for me to quilt on my Bernina 880. It'll be twin sized and while it'll fit through the sewing machine I am not sure of my ability to wrangle it around.

When I got up this morning there were some birds around the feeders. This wren was in one of my 4 pots of pansies that have survived the winter so far. The wren decided to use the pot holder to take a quick bath while here.

National Bird Day

National Bird Day ~ A day filled with some snow flurries but no real accumlation of snow but it kept the birds coming into the feeders. Since, I just got home from my 10 week trip yesterday ago, I was thrilled to see all of the birds. 16 species seen today which was awesome.
