I haven't been able to get some of my quilting embroidery equipment here yet since I moved but this month I was able to bring home my Bernina 880+ sewing/embroidery machine. I have always used it for quilting due to it's large harp but decided to try it for embroidery since it has more features than my older machine. I moved my computer desk to my sewing area and I am using that for the B990+ since it weights over 50 lbs and needs a sturdy surface.
My computer desk only held my monitor and keyboard with mouse pad/mouse so that's been relocated to a 42" folding table. I have Bernina software V7 to use in designing and altering embroidery designs that I have purchased.
Another sewing cabinet that was at my sister's was moved here in early December for my Bernina 1130. This machine is used for all of my piecing of quilts and finishing of postcards. My friend helped me to set up my sewing space along with my sister. I am very grateful to both of them.
I have made a few tweaks but think the room will stay this way until my cutting island arrives along with my Horn cabinet. They might come stay down here or might live up in the loft where I would have more room to do my quilting. It's also warmer up there in the winter which is when I do most of my quilting. It's very strange to me that I have not been able to make any donation quilts this year. It's probably the first time in 20 or more years that's happened.
Bernie and I are very happy to see all of the birds in my backyard coming to the feeders and the trees that are around. On a daily basis we see House Finch, American Goldfinch, 4 species of Woodpeckers - Northern Flickers, Red-bellied, Hairy and Downy. We are hoping to get Red-headed and Pileated woodpeckers here also as they are nearby in our area. We have Dark-eyed Juncos, Song and White throated Sparrows, Northern Cardinals, Carolina Wrens, Tufted Titmice, Carolina Chickadees, White-breasted Nuthatches, Blue Jays and Mourning Doves. Today, we had a rare for us group of about 6 Eastern Bluebirds and also a Common Grackle.
