I have been enjoying the birds in my backyard as I look forward to going to Magee Marsh for migrating warblers & others birds in OH.  I am also getting ready to plant more native plants along with some favorite annuals in my yard as I hope for a great 2025 butterfly season.

Red Admiral & Gray Catbird

First butterfly I have seen this year in my yard in Cochranville. It's a Red Admiral. I, also, saw my first catbird of 2024. They enjoy fruit so I guess it's time to get some oranges to put out. The orioles love oranges and grape jelly.

Cochranville, PA ~ Feeding the Birds

I've had my hummingbird feeders up for about 10 days since I first started to move my stuff into my new (to me) home.  I hadn't seen a hummingbird until today when a male, then a female followed by another male came to each of the feeders.  So happy to know they are going to be around here this summer.  I have plans to plant lots of flowers for them.

I also have started putting out orange slices, hoping to attract orioles and catbirds.  Success was mine today for the catbirds.

Beth's Patch ~ Gray Catbird's

Gray Catbirds come by for the fruit I put out to feed their babies.  Usually 2 broods per year and so fun to have them nearby.

Young catbird in the gardens.
Here's Mom or Dad collecting bugs and caterpillars for the young as they get older.
