Gift blocks swap

I am in another swap where we are making blocks that will be made into a Christmas Gift Block quilt. It's always so much fun to receive blocks in the mail.  To see what the quilt will look like google All Wrapped Up quilt pattern and you'll get lots of variations.   We have 3 US quilters, 1 quilter from England and one from Canada.  Here are my blocks for the year along with Sheila's blocks from British Columbia, Canada.  Love them all.  The blocks do get bows on the top of the blocks.

First quilt of 2015

As you know by now I really enjoy making quilts for charity.  I am using up my fabric stash on worthwhile projects so for me it's a win- win situation.  I am paring down my fabric every year and helping while doing it.  Here is the first quilt made and quilted for 2015.

Catching up on fabric postcards

This fall I wasn't feeling very creative therefore some of the fabric postcards I was due to send out for Dyehards swaps just never got made.  One such swap was an over dye swap.  We had a take fabric dye it and then over dye it using both fabrics in our cards.  I did 2 sets of fabrics ~ a yellow over dyed with red and a fushia over dyed with blue.  I eventually decided to use the yellow/red fabric for the cards that reminded me of flames or a sunset.  Here's my card.

I also made several cards using some silk fusion fabric I'd made on a retreat I went to in Montana back in 2007 with my Dyehard group.
