Donation Quilts Prior to 2017

All these quilts are made with love. I pieced the tops and quilted them on my Bernina with an allover meander. This first quilt was made as a fund raiser in memory of a friend's son who was killed in an auto accident in 2014.  The monies raised go a scholarship fund to the HS from where he graduated and to the Surfrider Foundation.  I belong to an online quilting group Sunshine Quilters.  They support mostly 2 charities though do other quilts when the situation arises.  All of my other quilts shown here were made for Wrap-A-Smile.  They are used as a recovery room blankets in this Rotary Program.  To make it easier for me I have cut up much of it stash into different size pieces.  The 6.5" squares are put into kits so I can pull one out and work up a top quickly.  Here are some of 38 donation quilts I made in 2016.

Back in about 2009 I started making donation quilts.  I started by making about one a month and by the end of 2014 I was making 2 per month.  I have been cutting up my stash and kitting it up so I can pull out a kit when I have some free time.  Some of the quilts I quilt myself and others I send out to a quilting angel. Most of my quilts go to Wrap-A-Smile, a Rotary project.  Here is a sampling of the quilts.  Even though some quilts are shown as tops all were finished and donated. I was able to make and donate over 50 tops or quilts in 2015 for the children.
