Embroidered Greeting Cards

I'm having fun making the greeting cards.  I am taking another class right now on making 3 D flowers to use on the cards.  Need a burning tool to be able to make them.  I haven't been able to find one locally so need to order one of the internet.

We had the challenge to use snow as a theme in any way we choose to use it.  I made several postacrds that featured an embroidered snowman.

Lancaster County, PA ~ Snowy Owl

There's been a long-staying snowy owl in the Paradise /Intercourse area of Lancaster county so I decided that I'd go up see the owl, visit with some friends and look at 2 houses that are for sale.  It was a win - win - win vsit.

Fabric Postcard Swaps ~ Happy Valentine's Day

I've been working on postcards for swaps in my postcard groups .  I got carried away and have extras to send to some of my close friend's also.

Made for a Patched Heart swap

Heart embroidered by Danielle years ago as a sample of free-standing lace.  Given to me about a week ago to make a postcard which I then gave back too Danielle.

Cape May Point ~ Lake Lily ~ Great Blue Heron

Almost daily as I walk by or drive by I see a Great Blue Heron hanging out at the Eastern end of the lake.  Sometimes, there are also Great Egrets hanging out nearby.

Greeting Cards Embroidery Zoom Class

I have long admired these greeting cards so decided to take a class on making them.  The class is given by Aurora Sewing Center in NY. I think some of the techniques would transfer well to the postcards I send out in swaps.  In fact, when I was working on my second postcard the density was high and the card started to pouch or become concave to the back so I didn't think it would lay flat so I turned it into a postcard.  Always great for a swap and since I emailed the teacher she's going to stitch out the design and see how it works for her.  Donna is a fantastic teacher.  I have to say Zoom classes are the best for me.

Cape May Point ~Out & About

Both yesterday morning and earlier today, I was out and about driving some of the roads here in the Point plus driving some roads in West Cape May.  My target was to see more American Woodcocks.  I saw 3 yesterday when I was out.  They blend in so well with the leaves and grasses they are difficult to see most of the time.  For me, the best bet to spot them is after it snows.  As you know it snowed quite a bit here on Saturday and there is still snow everywhere as the temperatures have stayed below 30F. I saw 7 woodcocks at my first spot where yesterday I had seen 3 woodcocks there.  I saw several along Sunset Blvd and then some along Seagrove Ave.    I love walking them walk and do their bobbin and shaking the ground looking for worms and bugs.
