My Yard ~ American Goldfinches

Male and female American goldfinches have been feeding in the yard on the seeds of blue rhea salvia for the past few days.  Quite nice to see and hope they hang around for a while.  Soon it'll be time for the common yellowthroat to arrive.

The males are almost always more brightly colored in alternative plummage.

Doing some Dyeing!

It's been far too long since I did any dyeing and I miss it.  Plus I have also been using my hand-dyed fabrics in quilts so I need more of them.  I have many dyes that are older, greater than 10 years so I have decided to use these dyes and see if they are still any good. They have been stores in a cool area of my house so hopefully, that has helped.  I did some color runs and gradations.  I also dyes a t-shirt and some socks.
