Organizing my Quilting Closet

Organization for me is key for creating. I need to have new shelves made as these are 27" shorter than that side of the closet. (I am using shelves from my prior home.) But everything is in the closet and ready to use except for the supplies for my dyeing which I'll keep in the utility room. I haven't organized or had brought to me the furniture for my "quilting studio" which is at a friends house though I do have a temporary place to sew.

Getting started

Mid-way with the organization

Happy with the results though tweaking can be done.

At least one table will eventually move out of the closet.  Right now used as a clothing holding place.  Bedroom furniture not due until Christmas 2022.

Front of House (winter 2022)

Back of house looking at living room on left side and master bedroom on right side

May 2022 ~ I have out my hummingbird feeders and oranges.  Starting to buy, plant and stage the plants.

Looking from the LR to the back gardens which need a complete overhaul.  massive amounts of invasive plants in them. Plants needing planting in foreground.

Looking at the bedroom side of the deck

Some plants that need to be planted and others that are awaiting planting.

Cochranville, PA ~ Yard Bird #22 ~ Eastern Bluebird

Yard bird #22 - Eastern Bluebird, though not this particular bird. A beautiful male bluebird stopped by to check out my food tray which only has oranges on it and left pretty quickly but I happened to be looking out the window at just the right time. (The previous owner told me she fed them meal worms and had bluebirds in the winter but not usually in the rest of the year.)

Bird in Hand, PA ~ Quilting Retreat

Gosh, You never know who you'll run into in Lancaster County. Great to see 3 quilting friends today, though, I never did get back home to my gardening. Sew much fun to see them and meet their other friends. House was amazing..

Cochranville, PA ~ Feeding the Birds

I've had my hummingbird feeders up for about 10 days since I first started to move my stuff into my new (to me) home.  I hadn't seen a hummingbird until today when a male, then a female followed by another male came to each of the feeders.  So happy to know they are going to be around here this summer.  I have plans to plant lots of flowers for them.

I also have started putting out orange slices, hoping to attract orioles and catbirds.  Success was mine today for the catbirds.
