Project Quilting 10.4 Pixel Play Challenge

It is the top that grew...I recently stumbled across the Project Quilting Challenge online.  It is loosely based on Project Runway but with more time to complete the project which is based off of challenges given to quilters.  This is the 10 season of Project Quilting. This year it is going to have 10 projects. The challenge is announced every other Sunday.  You have one week to plan, piece and quilt the project.  The second week is for voting your favorites.

This week's challenge was Pixel Play. I decided that I would piece using some of my 2.5" squares that I had received in some of my Dyehard Swaps to make small top.  Dyehards is an online fabric dyeing group I have belonged to for about 15 years.  At one time we had monthly projects on color and swapped results.  These projects helped us to learn about color, such as a make green swap where we would all sign up for our blue and yellow dyes.  Then we'd dye the fabric and share with the other participants in the swap.  I made about 1/2 of the top and decided I really liked how the colors were working out so kept on piecing.  I thought it would make a cheery quilt top and so decided to make it more a lap sized quit.  Here it is as of last evening, finished to the point of needing borders which I just might have to dye.

Unfortunately, I didn't get it done and quilted to enter the challenge.  But I like the top and am happy to have gotten it to this point.
