Australian Adventures ~ Visiting Margaret in Kialla, Victoria

30 years ago this coming Autumn, I spent 4 weeks visiting Australia and New Zealand on a quilting trip sponsored by the NQA and led by Jeannette and Jim Muir.  One of our stops was in Melbourne where we met with a large district-wide quilting group.  There were quilters galore.  We'd met for show 'n tell and dessert.  On this particular evening I was introduced to Margaret and became penpals so for 30 years we have been writing each other.  Now Margaret doesn't do FB so now we email each other instead of using snail mail.  Lots of letters and gifts have gone back and forth across the oceans in that time.  Several years later through Margaret, I also ended up having Bev in Ringwood as a penpal which is where I am staying this trip.  Bev and her hubby, Lyn drove to me to Margaret and Ian's to spend the day.  It was a great day and so wonderful to be able to get together with Margaret.  I love being able to now picture Margaret in her home with her hubby.
