This was the first year I put out a plate of rotting fruit to attract the butterflies. I only saw one once though the fruit did disappear. The fruit also brings flies and gnats to it which attracts the hummingbirds. Just today I saw a hummingbird eating the gnats. Of course, my camera wasn't handy to get any pictures.

Question Mark on rotten fruit in my backyard and one on persimmon taken at CMPoint State Park.
