Cloudless Sulphur Caterpillar 9/4/12 |
For the past 3-4 years we have been planting Partridge Pea in our yard hoping for the Cloudless Sulfur Butterflies to lay eggs on it as it's a host plant for several of the Sulphur species. In 2012 I saw one caterpillar on it that then was lost to a storm (or at least I never saw it again). Last year we planted it in several spots in the front gardens. This year we did the same. Today's reward was seeing a Cloudless Sulphur laying many eggs along its leaves. I can't wait to see if the eggs hatch and the caterpillars grow.
