My Yard ~ Another Amazing Day for Butterflies

Eastern Comma Butterfly
Ocola Skipper
Today was 72 degrees, sunny with light winds which helped butterfly numbers and species go up. Total species was 13 but the rotten fruit had 6 butterflies on it at one time including 3 Question Marks, 2 Red Admirals and an Eastern Comma.  We also had our best day ever for Orange Sulphurs topping out at 16 plus an increase of Monarchs going through with 18.  Today, in Cape May Point they tagged over 150 Monarchs.  No one knows if they'll ever get to Mexico but who knows what can happen if the weather cooperates along the way.
