Whiskered Tern comes to visit Cape May, NJ ~ Life bird #339

Excitement gripped the Cape today as word went out over KeeKeeKerr that a very rare Whiskered Tern was identified over Bunker Pond in Cape May Point.  It's only the third time this European shorebird has been seen in the USA.  Seen in 1993 and 1998, both times it was in Cape May. Whereas, I am not normally a bird chaser I decided that it certainly was worth going over and seeing the bird.  Success and good looks at the tern were my rewards.  there was the tern feeding in front of a crowd of about 25 birders.
